自製遊戲需投入大量的時間、人力成本,也必須兼顧消費者喜好與市場趨勢。以小型規模的產品來說,大多會投入120~150人月,開發期則約6~9個月不等;中型產品在300~500人月,約16~20個月左右不等;大型產品則會落在1,000人月,約花費24~36個月。就台灣市場來說,玩家口味多元、遊戲生命週期短;精品遊戲在台灣的數據表現突出,市場機會相對較大;但要在市場上脫穎而出,除了洞察市場需求,更需要仰賴策略規劃、參考成功案例。
